Last week the British American Business Council brought together over 170 leaders of the European business community to meet some new faces and exchange some fresh ideas. And where better to build new relationships than in the homely surrounds of the Timothy Oulton gallery in San Francisco.
The British American Business Council is the largest transatlantic business network, with over 2000 member companies. They regularly organise get-togethers for professionals from both sides of the pond to meet up and mingle. As British entrepreneur Richard Branson says; “Succeeding in business is all about making connections.” And when it comes to creating inspiring and energetic spaces for people to connect, well that’s what Timothy Oulton furniture is all about.
The international business crowd included professionals from the British-American Business Council (BABC), the German American Business Association (GABA) and the French American Chamber of Commerce (FACCSF). Guests made their way around the gallery with drinks in hand, settling into the comfort of Cloud and Reggio Highback sofas to sit and chat with new acquaintances. The Castaway desk made an excellent impromptu bar, decked out in Union Jack bunting, with gin cocktails mixed and served by Dunkirk Spirit Gin.
Mellow lighting from the Crystal, Crossglass and Iris collections made the space feel relaxed, with one group taking to the Westminster sofa to chat next to the flickering glow of candle light. As international relations were being cultivated around the room, there was still an authentically British flavour in the surroundings, from the Vintage Union Jack rug to the artfully stacked coronation china atop the Museum coffee table.
