A Hong Kong Apartment is Transformed into a Gentlemen's Club

When Hong Kong-based interior designer Enoch Hui was asked to transform his client's apartment into an upscale party pad, he looked to Timothy Oulton's bold vintage-inspired style to create the atmosphere of a modern gentlemen's club.
The 1,500 square foot two-bedroom apartment in Kowloon is
frequently used for entertaining by Hui's client. "He always
invites friends home for cigars and whisky, so he was expecting the
flat to look like a club," says Hui, the founder of interior design
and architecture studio Atelier E. "He asked for a masculine design
with some classical elements. The client is a fan of Timothy Oulton
and picked a lot of items from there. It's unusual because the
project started with the furniture, instead of the space", says
Hui.
A BOLD VINTAGE-INSPIRED STYLE
In the living room, the Westminster Button
sofa in Jack'dN Brok'n leather blends a traditional
Chesterfield design with a modern twist, emblazoned with a
hand-painted Union flag graphic on the leather. Further sociable
seating is offered by the classic Viscount William sofa with
hand-applied stud detailing and the hand-tufted Branco armchair with its
distinctive scalloped edging.

Injecting some modern masculine flair, the Aviator
Blackhawk coffee table in riveted Black Spitfire is accompanied
by the Regiment side
table, modelled on antique military drums, and the Stonyhurst side
table, a contemporary take on vintage travel trunks. Completing
the gentlemen's club vibe, the Biohazard
round bar cabinet is stocked for every occasion, handcrafted
from glass rods and featuring internal lighting for a mellow,
atmospheric glow.
In the elegant dining room, a marble dining table is accompanied
by Angeles dining chairs and Mimi dining chairs, mixed and matched
in different fabrics and colourways, offering a comfortable seat
for dinner parties that run late into the night.
The Inception
infinity mirror provides a conversational backdrop, with its
endless tunnel of lights. On the other side of the table is a row
of free-standing wooden cabinets with bronze-tinted mirror fronts,
custom designed by Hui.
It's the perfect setting to kick back, turn up the music, and
enjoy the finer things in life - an aged whisky, a fragrant cigar,
and the good company of friends.
