The subject of travel is something that really gets our pulses racing at Timothy Oulton so we were thrilled to partner with British Airways to celebrate an evening of travel, adventure and British heritage in the cosy surrounds of the Hong Kong gallery.

It was a hot, late spring evening as guests stepped into the three-storey gallery in St Francis Street.  40 of the airline’s top frequent flyers were welcomed by the iconic blue uniforms of smiling British Airways cabin crew. We may not have been flying to exotic destinations tonight but we were certainly going to be transported in mind and spirit.

Cool, crisp glasses of wine and champagne were poured by Wine Etc as guests relaxed in the comfort of the slouchy Shabby sectional and the new summery Coastal Drift collection. Both very proud of our British identity, Timothy Oulton and British Airways also share a common passion for heritage.  With the airline just four years shy of its centenary, guests were treated to a fascinating glimpse of the past with some vintage photos from the British Airways Heritage Collection. There was certainly a feeling of history in the air, especially with the Timothy Oulton vintage collection dotted around the gallery, from old typewriters to the 1950s cold war periscope.

Now even in modern times, airlines aren’t known for their culinary excitement, but the tasty morsels presented to the group from the British Airways First Class menu could have easily been tasters from the hottest new restaurant in town. The platter on the Marble coffee table was soon tempting guests as they kicked back on the Dex sofa and flicked through a copy of our special edition Coastal Drift magazine. With Iris pendants hanging overhead and Castaway and Xylem side tables hinting at the ocean, chatter naturally turned to the topic of holidays and that carefree summer feeling crept in.

Just as everyone was chilling out with thoughts of tropical beaches and rolling seas, the mood turned to excitement with the grand prize draw. One lucky guest won Gold BA Executive Club membership while another was delighted with a magnum of Pol Roger. And lastly, for all those weekend getaways, the Timothy Oulton Annabel weekender bag will undoubtedly prove a well-travelled companion for its lucky new owner.

Keep the summer sun shining with the Coastal Drift collection, featured in our new special edition magazine here
