Stonyhurst College was founded in 1593 and remains one of the
UK's most prestigious boarding schools. An adaptation of the
Ampleforth collection, which is named after Tim Oulton's own alma
mater, Stonyhurst similarly transforms Timothy Oulton's
travel-inspired trunks into functional furniture. While preserving
all the hallmarks of traditional craftsmanship in its construction
and detailing, the collection experiments with a range of
innovative finishes including the celebrated Spitfire finish.
Unlike the Ampleforth, the Stonyhurst does not include a lift-up
lid. All leather finishes, plus the Shiny and Black Steel options
and Oxidised Solid Brass, all come with wooden banding. Both the
Spitfire and Aero finish come without any banding.
