Addressing a growing demand for iconic, rarefied statements, Tim Oulton and his eldest son Oliver have made it their mission to rewrite the antiques rulebook.
It’s arrived! Our new and exciting 2016 collection features daring new hand-finishes and distinctly original pieces for a modern take on humble luxury across four key themes: Sumptuous Safari leather & linen sectional sofas; Age of Elegance brass-trimmed marble and leather; “Speakeasy” bar and bar cabinets; Faded & Degraded velvet fabric collection.
Exciting additions include new Safari leather, fitted to brand new sofa designs; Torino, Zenna, Nirvana and Teddy. Celebrating the natural and unique characteristics of the hide, Safari is sanded by hand to raise the grain and create a dry texture almost like suede. This pure patina acquires richness and depth over time for a lived-in look imbued with its own story. Nirvana and Zenna are two new sumptuous sectional sofas while the Torino and Teddy bring a slightly more streamlined silhouette.
The Age of Elegance range has been updated with new glamorous pieces finished in bold materials. The Colosseum chest is innovatively handcrafted in timeless marble, with a nod to old England in its brass detailing. The Bastille armchair is wrapped in brass-studded Pixel leather inspired by leather jackets, colliding traditional elegance with modern rock and roll.
At the heart of the Timothy Oulton collection is the idea of hosting memorable experiences at home. New for 2016, the Hudson and Biohazard bar cabinets are inspired by the prohibition-style speakeasy; that ever so slightly defiant streak that insists on having a good time. New to the Metro range, the luxurious Hudson collection is clad in a patchwork of new Fury leather, designed for sharing great nights in with friends.
2016 also sees the introduction of the epic 4 Beam dining table, crafted from four solid beams of salvaged timber and encased in ice-smooth acrylic.
Also new for 2016 is the Faded & Degraded velvet collection. Featured on selected upholstery, Faded & Degraded takes vintage motifs and collides them with bold abstract patterns to create richly layered designs with vivid contemporary flair.
Tim: “We’ve really pushed the boundaries in this collection, especially with the materials. That’s what makes it so exciting. We’ve dared to mix different combinations in unexpected ways – wild velvets, studded leathers, chests of drawers in marble. Colliding this together creates something new and relevant. ”
The new 2016 collection is now available in Timothy Oulton galleries.
