Auckland, New Zealand
Timothy Oulton's second Auckland gallery sits inside the Dawson & Co showroom at the historic Strand. Occupying a stunning 1940's building, the space has been recently renovated in sympathy with the original features, including oversized barn-style doors, raw concrete pillars, and kauri rafters supporting the dramatically high ceilings.
Steeped in history, the site was originally waterfront land before the bays were reclaimed for railway and port development in the 1870s. Inside the 175 square metre gallery, you'll discover Timothy Oulton's daring furniture collections alongside an authentic Yellow Submarine hanging from the rafters, acquired from the British Royal Navy, and Timothy Oulton's highest-ever Pillars of Knowledge: two colossal towers of books, each around 5 metres high, collected from flea markets around the world. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
