In celebration of Tim being in town, we invited some dapper gents and discerning ladies to the New York gallery at ABC Carpet and Home last week for a special Gentlemen’s Evening. Partnering with some of the city’s top names in fashion and lifestyle, it was an evening of great company and fine craftsmanship in honour of the modern gentleman.
Tim greeted guests as they arrived, with around 50 attendees for the evening. Everyone immediately made themselves at home, exploring the gallery with a glass of champagne in hand. With New York being one of the most fashionable cities in the world, even our champagne servers looked the part – dressed in a Timothy Oulton black bowler hat with a red rose pinned to their crisp white shirt.
As well as the authentically handcrafted surroundings, our select group of partners each showcased their outstanding quality and craftsmanship, from watches to suits to sound systems. At the whisky bar there was a selection of bottles to choose from, while the Causeway dining table was covered with tempting cheese platters for guests to tuck into as they made their way around the gallery, discovering a new experience around every corner.
Over by the Adventurer collection, Alton Lane presented their unique tailor service as guests relaxed on the Nirvana sofa. Partnering with the best European mills, Alton Lane combines the artistry of Saville Row and modern technology in order to produce only the very best fit.
Purveyors of the finest sound systems, the McIntosh Group was on hand to showcase the McIntosh headphone amplifier and Pryma headphones; the first and only “100% Handmade in Italy” line of headphones. McIntosh Group is a family of exceptional audio brands, all combining a keen dedication to the art of sound and a passion to create unprecedented sensory experiences. Many guests were keen to try the headphones out for themselves, over at the Axel console.
On to the art of fine watchmaking, and in the edgy and sleek surrounds of the Metro collection, centuries of tradition were being explained by the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie. The foundation’s goal is to provide the keys to understanding watchmaking, explore its diversity, and safeguard expertise by offering a full program of training, from beginner to expert level.
As the crowd immersed themselves in the art of style and craftsmanship, they had the exclusive opportunity to speak to Tim and find out more about his story and inspiration. Tim was delighted to meet all the guests and speak directly to some of our customers, something that he always takes great pleasure in.
At the end of the evening, Tim helped pluck the names of the lucky draw winners from, of course, a bowler hat. Stellar prizes included a Timothy Oulton Rex table lamp, a tailor-made suit and shirt from Alton Lane’s Blue Label collection, Pryma headphones, private tours of the McIntosh Townhouse in Soho, and a bottle of 15 year old Macallan whisky.
It was another wonderful event at the New York gallery hosting old faces and new, made all the more special with the charismatic presence of Tim Oulton himself.
