5 Tips for Choosing the Right Velvet Sofa

Colour Palette

From green velvet sofas and rich jewel tones to muted grey velvet sofas and neutral hues, we offer a wide colour palette to suit your living room scheme. Remember, the colour of velvet may appear to change depending on the direction of the nap and the angle the sofa is viewed from. If you are ordering swatches we recommend you look at them in different lights during the day and from different angles.

Patterned Velvet Sofas

Our patterned Faded & Degraded velvets and vibrant Acid Jungle velvet are available across our sofas, armchairs, and dining chairs and is a popular choice for our chesterfield sofas such as the Serpentine 3-seater sofa. If you are buying more than one item in this velvet please note it is pattern matched on select pieces only. Please speak to us via Live Chat if you have any queries.

Cotton Velvet Sofas

Our Cotton Velvet is made from pure cotton and will mark and scuff more easily over time than our other manmade velvets. Like all natural materials, these inevitable imperfections should be embraced and do not diminish the beauty of the velvet.

How to Care For Your Velvet Sofa

- Spot clean your velvet sofa using a mild, water-free solvent or dry cleaning product and follow the manufacturer's directions. Water-based cleaning products may create water stains.

- To remove surface dirt, a very soft dry brush (such as a baby's hairbrush) can be used. Brush in the direction of the nap. Vacuum your velvet sofa using the upholstery attachment to remove any dust.

- Pressure marks commonly appear on velvet. They can disappear after brushing but may become permanent. This is an inherent characteristic of velvet and perfectly normal.

- Keep your sofa away from heat and direct sunlight to avoid bleaching.
