modern perspective to the iconic British chesterfield sofa whose
roots dates back to the 17th century. Generous proportions, deep
bandage folds of sustainable hemp fabric, and a lavish and abundant
use of materials give Commodore its commanding presence and
luxurious levels of comfort. Covered in our unique Anatolian
Reweave Ivory fabric, created using natural hemp repurposed from
grain sacks, with a richly textured finish. The hemp has been
painstakingly unpicked, rewoven, and hand-dyed in a beautiful ivory
shade. The name Commodore is a salute to Tim Oulton's father, Major
Philip Oulton, whose antiques store and expertise in the antiques
world marked the very beginning of the Timothy Oulton brand and our
love affair with timeless design.

fabric, repurposed from century-old vintage hemp sacks. Each thread
has been meticulously unravelled, hand washed and re-woven. The
hemp fabric has an authentic, natural texture in celebration of its
provenance. The sofa feet are also wrapped in the same hemp
fabric.
