Interior designers live, breathe, and bleed style, so it’s always exciting to show our latest collections to a small crowd and feel the heart rates rise and the energy start pumping around the room.
Timothy Oulton was proud and privileged to host the launch party for One for the Boys, a men’s cancer charity headed by Samuel L Jackson. Our Harrods gallery was transformed around a ‘Gents Night Out’ theme for the event, which took place on 7 November. The evening’s great atmosphere was punctuated by a more serious message with moving speeches from Chairperson Samuel L Jackson, and a video featuring the charity’s other ambassadors including Michael Douglas and Philip Schofield.
One for the Boys aims to promote awareness about cancer and remove the stigma often associated with it. 50 VIP guests gathered to support the event, including a host of celebrities. The Timothy Oulton venue provided an intimate ambience, decked out with over 600 red roses, vintage gent’s accessories and the warm glow from flickering candles.
A mouth-watering champagne dinner was prepared by Michelin starred chef Michael Caines MBE, who is currently Harrods chef of the season. Each of the place settings was finished off with a Timothy Oulton bowler hat, which guests took great pleasure in trying on.
Highlights of the night included live performances from Xfactor’s Jahmene Douglas, and Lianne La Havas, who was winner of the Itunes album of the year 2012. A great end to the night, and a great start to raising awareness.
