Corks popped, glasses clinked, and bubbles fizzed ceremoniously as we toasted a great night in at the New York gallery with a special champagne tasting of Veuve Clicquot’s hand selected grand crus.
Last week, the Orange County gallery at HD Buttercup hosted a crowd of fine fellows, discerning ladies and VIPs to celebrate the launch of the summer edition of Nobleman magazine, an arbiter of taste in fashion, luxury travel, the arts and more.
Timothy Oulton’s Orange County gallery is set in the vibrant interior design centre of SoCo, a flourishing hub of culture and creativity that’s home to an array of showrooms, artisan boutiques and a famed Farmer’s Market. The 3000 square foot gallery provided the perfect inspiring backdrop for a refined yet relaxed evening,
Nobleman was founded in 2016 by Doug McLaughlin, who was in attendance along with his wife Lydia. The magazine is an ultra-premium publication for the modern man, focusing on style, adventure and culture. With its stunning photography it feels more like a coffee table book than a magazine, displayed in the finest homes and businesses.
Around 150 guests arrived to a spectacular welcome, with Rolls Royce cars flanking the entrance and a black-suited bowler-hatted server waiting at the ready with a tray of champagne. It was a mood of celebration, with guests engaged in lively conversation over the beat of rock and roll tunes. Cocktails were being shaken and stirred at the bar, delectable cheese and canapes covered the Axel dining table and inner legs were being measured at the tailor station by luxury menswear specialist Mark Pomerantz.
Guests explored Timothy Oulton’s dedicated Room Planning area, where Ambassadors create 3D bespoke room plans from the glamorous Rex dining table, which was lit up in all its glory like a dramatic Art Deco chandelier. When the crowd weren’t weaving their way through the collections on foot they were lounging on authentically handcrafted sofas, leaning deep into energetic discussion on the Tribeca Tufted sofa and Shabby sectional. One guest had a particularly good night, winning the Mars MK3 chair in the lucky draw – one of Timothy Oulton’s most iconic designs.
The evening was the perfect summer mix of laid-back California cool with luxurious sophistication, the perfect way to launch Nobleman’s latest edition and introduce some of Orange County’s savvy design-conscious crowd to the timeless collections of Timothy Oulton.
