The Bluebird flagship store of British furniture and interiors company Timothy Oulton has won the Inspiring Creative Design category at this year’s prestigious Luxury Briefing Awards.
When was your last night out in a spaceship? Well buckle up, because Timothy Oulton’s very own spaceship has taken up residence at Gordon Ramsay’s celebrated restaurant, Bread Street Kitchen. The Apollo, originally conceived for Milan Design Week last year, is the latest addition to the restaurant’s new Street Lounge Bar. Ramsay fell in love with Apollo after visiting Timothy Oulton’s flagship gallery at Bluebird, and his imagination was sparked to create a spectacular, cosmically-charged hosted experience.
One of London’s most unique dining spaces, the Apollo takes centre stage at Street Lounge, complemented by Timothy Oulton’s Shabby sectional sofas, perfect for lounging with friends in a luxe yet laid-back atmosphere. Guests can book the entire space for up to 30 people or, for smaller parties of one to eight guests, reserve the Apollo. A special menu of sharing platters and cocktails has been curated specifically for the space, highlights include snow crab California rolls, tuna tartare and truffle fries.
Inspired by the original Apollo II, the spaceship’s polished stainless steel shell is the same size as the original capsule. Its bespoke interior is clad in hand-tufted Tomahawk Camel leather, a beautifully tactile finish with a velvety softness inspired by rose petals. A glowing Alabaster table is centred below an Odeon pendant from the Timothy Oulton lighting collection, and the staircase and pod floor are wrapped in woven Safari Tobacco leather. It’s the perfect space for a memorable evening out with friends.
You can also visit Timothy Oulton’s first Apollo capsule at our Bluebird gallery in Chelsea, or experience our new Red Apollo which recently landed in the U.S. at our L.A. gallery. Commemorating 50 years since the Moon Landing, Red Apollo was first showcased at Design Shanghai 2019 and features a customised interior in black tufted leather and Chinese red embroidered silk.
Designed and built in-house by Timothy Oulton Studio, Apollo can be customised to a client’s specifications and shipped worldwide. So where will it land next? Stay tuned for Apollo’s next mission…
