It was Galileo Galilei who said that “wine is sunlight held together by water”, so what better way to celebrate the summer than with an evening dedicated to wine at our Bluebird gallery.
Our new St Francis Street store provided a relaxing venue for an intimate evening hosted by Hong Kong property specialist Jones Lang Lasalle. The Integrated Facilities Management team swapped the hustle and bustle of the city for the comfort of the Timothy Oulton gallery to enjoy some team drinks.
Our vintage pieces, including old saddles and riding boots, offered some welcome nostalgia to some of the gentlemen who grew up in the English countryside. They were reminded of riding and playing polo at boarding school, while our vintage school trophies brought back memories of their parent’s cabinets adorned with various sports trophies they had won.
Lounging happily on the sofas, the ladies sipped tea from our vintage royal china and relished the old fashioned sweets piled high in glass jars. The Aviator Tomcat proved to be a great success with the gentlemen, getting lost in a world of imaginary fighter jets, they were transported back in time into an F14 cockpit when they sunk into our iconic leather chairs.
Sometimes the best evenings aren’t out on the town they’re spent with friends at home. Our galleries might not be home but we like to think of it as the next best thing for guests to relax in casual, cosy surroundings and an indulge with a glass of champagne or two… well we’re all friends here, who’s counting?
