We are delighted to announce that Timothy Oulton scored a hat trick at this year’s Architectural & Design Trophy Awards; one of Asia Pacific’s most prestigious architecture and design awards competition.

The Blue Room, designed by Timothy Oulton at the Los Angeles Athletic Club, won Best of Category in Best International Interior Design, Timothy Oulton’s global headquarters achieved a Certificate of Excellence in Best Commercial, Retail or Office Interior Design, and the Rosen Bridge pendant achieved a Certificate of Excellence in Best International Product Design.

Now in its 13th year, the A&D Trophy Awards were created by renowned architecture and interiors magazine Perspective Global, to celebrate excellence in architecture, interior design and product design across Asia-Pacific and beyond. An esteemed panel of expert local and international judges ensure that only genuinely exceptional work is rewarded.

The 2016 awards gala was held this month at the Hotel Sav in Hong Kong, with over 200 guests in attendance including world-renowned designers, developers, sponsors and winners. Representatives from the local creative industry associations included the Hong Kong Interior Design Association, the Hong Kong Designers Association, and the Hong Kong chapters of both the American Institute of Architects and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

Best International Interior Design

The Blue Room took home the coveted Best of Category award. This members-only ‘club within a club’ opened in May last year, having once been the meeting place of L.A.’s influential Uplifter’s Club which counted Charlie Chaplin and Clark Gable among its tight-knit crew. Entered via a secret stairwell once used in Prohibition, the reinvented Blue Room marries the club’s rich heritage with Timothy Oulton’s modern, daring viewpoint.

Best Commercial, Retail or Office Interior Design

Timothy Oulton’s inspiring and creative global headquarters in Hong Kong’s Wong Chuk Hang district achieved a prestigious Certificate of Excellence award in this category. Entered via a tufted leather-clad corridor featuring ink-jet portraits of Mick Jagger and Muhammad Ali, the office centre-point is a glass-walled meeting room wrapped in a giant brass Union Jack.

Launched this year, the innovative Rosen Bridge pendant was awarded a Certificate of Excellence award in this competitive category. Inspired by cosmic wormholes, this interactive design allows you to pivot the central rings into different positions to create your own unique look.
