Pop the champagne! This week, we were delighted to host our first ever event at our new US flagship, welcoming our Owners’ Club members to celebrate the store opening in true Timothy Oulton style.  Our British guards were dressed in their bear skin hats and red jackets to welcome guests at the door, and a carpet of fresh red rose petals led the way inside…


901 Broadway in Manhattan’s historic Flatiron district is an epic sensory experience that immerses visitors in every aspect of Timothy Oulton’s wild creativity, timeless designs, and our passion for people and hosting. So it was an absolute delight to host our monthly Owners’ Club Lotto Call live from our new space.  



The Timothy Oulton Owners’ Club is open to owners and lovers alike, and one of the exclusive benefits of membership is the chance to join our monthly Lotto Call. It began as a way to get people together on Zoom for mid-week drinks during Lockdown when the stores were closed, and now we’re finally able to get together in person. Tim joins the call via video and it’s always a great bit of fun with regular segments including You Show Me Yours and I’ll Show You Mine, Curly Questions, and of course the grand prize giveaway.


There was a great buzz of excitement as guests sipped champagne while relaxing on our handcrafted sofas or sat at the opulent Art-Deco inspired Classic Crystal Bar, while Tim explained why he’d been coveting 901 Broadway for some time. “We opened in New York 13 years at ABC Carpet & Home,” explained Tim, “and it was a great building but we were on the third floor at the back. I used to walk past 901 and I always loved the windows – they’re huge! The building has a long history, and Ralph Lauren used to work there as a Saturday boy when it was Brookes Brothers. I’ve wanted the building for a long time, and then we got lucky. They say be careful what you wish for as you get it!”


Now the first rule of the Owners’ Club Lotto Call is to have a drink in your hand, and the second is to make sure you make as much noise as possible should you be the lucky winner of the prize. Tim plucked the winner’s name from our bowler hat, and this month’s prize was one of our most iconic pieces – the spectacular Rex mirror. Cheers and applause filled the gallery.


Timothy Oulton’s aim has always been to inspire people. Evoking reactions with an irreverence through relevance. Our guests explored the new gallery space filled with all our best loved furniture designs alongside bespoke one-offs that can only be found in the New York flagship. It was wonderful to introduce people to a very special edition of our Apollo, a replica of the Apollo 11 capsule with a printed velvet interior based on Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, and Derek the Diver, a vintage-inspired diving suit showcased in a bespoke aquarium filled with fish.


“That’s not about the commercial angle” says Tim, “It’s wanting people to walk out thinking what on earth was that? And yet be inspired and intrigued. I want this to be the best store in New York and I think we do offer something very unique to other stores. Of course I’m biased, you always love your own kids more than other people’s! But it’s just an epic store.”  


Proving that “Life is better with a bowler hat”, all of our guests were presented with their own bowler hat and hat box, together with a silver bowler hat bottle opener, in celebration of the evening. We look forward to doffing our bowler hats together at the October Lotto Call!
