The Brits hit Geneva last week with a bang! The black carpet was lined with red rose petals, running from the Rue du Rhône, ‘the Fifth Avenue of Geneva’, right up to the foyer of our new Gallery. A fleet of vintage cars, from Mini’s to Mercedes, lined the street as 850 guests were greeted in true Timothy Oulton fashion – with a glass of champagne served by Gentlemen dressed in bowler hats and bowties. Our iconic Union Jack Bensington Sofa, flanked by two British Guards, was on display creating a pop up photo booth for guests to lounge on and have the moment captured.
The three-storey Gallery was officially opened with the cutting of the ribbon and inside the celebrations got underway on the ground floor champagne terrace. Revelers sipped on Veuve Clicquot, breathed in our signature scent of Santa Maria Novella and enjoyed the abundantly laid tables lined with the finest Swiss cheeses and an array of sweet treats.
In a scene reminiscent of the Thomas Crown Affair, guests mingled throughout the 500 square metre Gallery donning their bowler hats and discovering new wonders around every corner. Our experienced team of ambassadors were on hand to artfully demonstrate the features and benefits of our iconic pieces with classic Timothy Oulton flair – they tap danced on tables, wrapped guests in leather hides and started a cushion fight.
As the champagne continued to flow the party ramped up a notch on the third floor Lounge, where the DJ played a selection of the best British Rock ‘n Roll and guests took to the dance floor until the early hours.
