Timothy Oulton, creator of storied interiors for hosted experiences, has always believed that hospitality is an ancient art that deserves revival. Through a captivating collection of distinctive dining tables, chairs and lighting, made using the most beautiful and authentic materials, Timothy Oulton blends a love of heritage and tradition with a modern relevance to transform the everyday ritual of dining into a visceral experience.

A deep ethos of hospitality has always informed Timothy Oulton’s designs. In the early days, founder Tim Oulton showcased new furniture collections at home, with his customers as guests. Today, Timothy Oulton views its stores as its home, and welcomes customers as friends with a glass of champagne served with a Union Flag napkin, or a cup of tea beautifully presented in a vintage coronation teacup. It’s this attentiveness that is also threaded through its furniture collections, made by hand with exceptional attention to detail, in the belief that details make all the difference.

Taking its ethos of hosting even further, Timothy Oulton designed and operated its own restaurant, Gough’s on Gough, in Hong Kong, which was voted into the Top 10 on TripAdvisor. And this October, the brand will open its first pub and restaurant in Chelsea, an upscale neighbourhood venue named The Chelsea Pig.

Great hosting is about opening up, sharing, and swapping stories around the table. Every Timothy Oulton design has its own story to tell; it could be the vintage piece that inspired its creation, harking back to Tim’s days in the antiques trade, or the material itself – from century-old timber tabletops that once formed the beams of stately buildings, to tables crafted from hand-polished, glowing glass prisms, or authentically distressed leather chairs finished purely by the craftsman’s hand.

Helping you create a captivating backdrop to entertain at home, the Timothy Oulton Collection offers a range of dining furniture and accessories to suit any occasion from show-stopping celebrations to casual family get-togethers, in an array of styles, sizes and finishes to suit every interior from compact city pads to larger countryside retreats.

Highlights of the varied collection include the Georgian Architectural dining table in century-old reclaimed timber, perfect for hearty gatherings, the Junction dining table, juxtaposing marble and oak, and the Art Deco inspired Rex dining table, lit from within like a glowing chandelier. Distinctive dining chairs include the Mimi Stud, a classic flared shape in hand-studded leather, and the universally elegant Fibi in Faded and Degraded ‘Melting Paisley’ velvet.

With in-home bars gaining popularity, the Bio Hazard bar cabinet is a glowing capsule of fun, perfect for shaking up some pre-dinner cocktails.

Tim Oulton: “Entertaining and hospitality is massively important because it’s a platform to connect with other people. It’s about opening your home to family, friends, guests…and giving them a great experience. And when it’s done well, it gets the heart racing.”
