Fashion and lifestyle blogger Carl Thompson has been carefully crafting the interior of his London flat for some time, patiently seeking out the perfect pieces. After falling in love with the unique design and style of the Timothy Oulton collections, Carl chose his ultimate chair and side table duo, detailing his latest room transformation in his blog. Carl set up his blog four years ago after founding premium London shirt makers Hawkins and Shepherd, focussing on grooming, fashion and style advice, but Carl also has a passion for interior design. When it comes to shirts, Carl’s style is classic and tailored with an edge, and the same could be said for his interior, with its mix of exposed brickwork, cool greys and metallic accents. Running a full-time business as well as being an editor for his own blog, Carl needed a relaxation space in his home where he could de-stress and indulge in reading his magazines, newspapers and books. The first piece Carl chose was the Trapt side table, handcrafted from exotic beams of African balsam wood encased in clear resin. Carl was particularly drawn to the timber, and how the light brings out the natural tones of the wood. Key to this new space was a hero chair, and the Bilbao chaise longue offered the perfect spot to stretch out for hours. Carl chose a rich brown leather to complement the amber and dark tones of the Trapt side table, completing his new cosy sanctuary.
