Of course design rules are there for a reason, but sometimes it makes sense to throw a bit of caution to the wind and be a rule breaker. That, after all, is what gives your home its own unique personality.
Designed for people who love to host at home, the daring new Wall Street chair adds drama and elegance to your living space, exciting the eye and sparking conversation for great nights in with friends.
Wall Street is part of Timothy Oulton’s “Hosted Living” concept, created for people who want a sophisticated and refined living room to engage with guests and entertain in style. A structured shape and upright seating position are perfect for leaning in closer to the evening’s discussions, while rich hand-finished leather is paired with bold brass for a contemporary take on glamour.
The Wall Street chair takes its cue from the simple and enduring shapes of mid-century modern design. Putting a different twist on a classic form, rigid lines are swapped for a gently sloping arm to create a more welcoming profile. Thick cushioning in the velvety feel of Aussie leather offers ultra-comfortable seating, supported by an angular, thick-set metal frame in Brushed Brass.
Launched this year, Aussie is Timothy Oulton’s first water-resistant leather. This nubuck finish has been immersed in oil for many hours to soften the hide, creating a silky leather that also offers some practical resistance to spills.
For a more industrial look, Wall Street is also available in a Brushed Steel frame with Old Saddle Black leather, a soft, distressed finish with a lustrous sheen. If you prefer a different look and feel, you can choose from 28 of our hand-finished leathers, or opt for cool linen for a more casual vibe.
Tim Oulton: “The Wall Street is probably my favourite piece in the 2017 Collection, just the lines of it. It’s not a piece I would normally love, actually, because it doesn’t have vintage materials anywhere near it. But I like it; it’s sleek, you look at it twice.”
