After moving into their new headquarters in downtown New York, premier men’s magazine GQ wanted a lounge area that reflected their motto “look sharp and live smart”. Cue Timothy Oulton and Homepolish…
Timothy Oulton has been rubbing shoulders with Moscow’s stylish urbanites since our gallery opened at Artplay’s Home Concept last year. Now we’re turning heads at the fashionable men’s barber shop Schegol, decked out in our Axel range after the owner fell in love with it at first sight.
Schegol is situated in the historical city centre near Mayakovsky theatre. Sharing similar values to Timothy Oulton, they focus on classic haircuts and traditional wet-shaves for the modern gentleman with an energetic team of creative masters who are passionate about what they do.
Painted wooden floorboards, exposed brick and plaster walls and large windows give the space a light and airy industrial feel that makes you wonder if you’ve been transported to a New York loft apartment. Chunky Timothy Oulton Axel mirrors hang along the wall above Axel consoles at each station, with the odd pair of our vintage leather boxing gloves slung over the top and leather punch bag ready for action. It’s a strong, masculine space with a genuinely friendly, laid-back atmosphere.
Schegol’s owner Bogdan Kanuka says: “Timothy Oulton pieces are authentic, just the way we’d like things to be. They are exactly what we were looking for; audacious but stylish.”
