The Trunks

The Timothy Oulton Trunks are a salute to antique luggage and travel goods used during a period of grace and romance. Each trunk requires numerous labour hours to complete, from nailing and polishing studs to exterior finishes and detailing and are a testament to everlasting charm and enduring beauty.

Tomcat Chair

Part of the aviation-inspired Aviator range, this chair draws its inspiration from a fighter jet, the Grumman F-14 Tomcat. The chair’s aerodynamic curves are hugged in riveted aluminium, while the seat and back are swathed in ribbed leather with the worn-down softness of a vintage bomber jacket. This chair was awarded the “Most Innovative Product Design” at the Luxuria 2010 Awards.

Axel Collection

The Axel range crosses old world and industrial with its combination of reclaimed wood from decommissioned Chinese junks and hand-treated metal detailing. After decades of exposure to the high seas and elements, the reclaimed Sassafras hardwood from the hulls, decking, and beams of the Chinese boats reflects uniquely weathered colourations and textures.

The Kensington Collection

The Kensington Collection evokes the Grand Gentlemen’s Club tradition with deep hand-tufting and rolled arms, 1,700 hand-nailed brass studs and upholstered in hand-finished leather. A fitting example of how traditional design details inspire classic upholstery collections.

Black Hawk

The Black Hawk Collection of chest, tables and bookcases is an industrial-style range inspired by military aircrafts. The spitfire finish takes its cue from the historic Spitfire jet fighter of World War II - it echoes the plane’s multi-riveted construction of interlocking aluminium panels, and is finished through a five-stage process that creates an impression of worn, distressed metal. The curved edges and unique drawer handles, on the other hand, are reminiscent of the curved, rounded lines of the famous Black Hawk helicopter.

Union Jack Bensington

A playful celebration of royal Britannia, its bold, graphic print of the Union Jack is a modern salute to the jubilant history of the nation. Featuring hand-dyed canvas and hand-stitched detail, the chair’s construction retains the elements of a traditionally crafted piece, while the juxtaposition of the vibrant, print is a modern, humorous take on a classic silhouette.

Professor Chair

One of Timothy Oulton’s bestselling tub chairs, the Professor chair is Oulton’s interpretation of the classic tub – the rounded back of the chair is reworked and extended, while the arms of the chair are lowered for a refined, sophisticated look. The chair is further accented with a large selection of innovative fabrications including hand-painted leather, and cowhide matched with distressed vintage leather.

Mars Chair

One of Timothy Oulton’s most celebrated designs, the Mars chair transports elements of Art Deco to the future of furniture design. Retaining a 1930s proportion, the chair is updated through its unlikely combination of hand-moulded metal with distressed, vintage leathers, while the chair’s curved, bevelled lines catapult the piece to the frontiers of design.

Reggio Chair

The retro-styled design of Reggio is reminiscent of the streamlined forms of the early 20th century – a time when simplicity was championed and excessive ornamentation was minimised. The boxier style of Reggio offers efficient use of space and materials through smaller proportions, while its slightly worn, handcrafted leather provides sublime comfort without sacrificing an ounce of style.

Stonyhurst

Stonyhurst transforms Timothy Oulton’s trunks into functional furniture. This collection pushes the boundaries in terms of fabrications by combining traditional craftsmanship with a range of innovative finishes including the brand’s Spitfire finish, as well as “Kilim”, an ancient weaving technique that takes three months to complete.

Zazenne

This architectural collection embodies a truly modern aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the clean lines of Japanese architecture, each piece is highly sculptural. The collection is available in two unique finishes: tavern, which is an all-wood finish produced from reclaimed timber salvaged from traditional Chinese doors, and the second finish is steel.

Globetrekker

Nostalgic for an era of long, luxurious voyages by sea, the Globetrekker range is inspired by an original trunk from 1914 that Timothy Oulton discovered at an antiques market. Intrigues by the intricate detailing, Oulton deconstructed the antique, redesigning it to encompass a full collection of lamp tables, chests, coffee tables, desks and bookcases. The range captures the authentic charm of old-world luggage.

American Locker

A throwback to the school hall storage solutions of yesteryear, the American Locker range features retro-style lockers, drawers, medicine cabinets and old school desks. The collection’s authentic, buffed steel finishes come complete with brass hinges and locks and each piece is infused with an element of wit and humour.

Bilbao

The Bilbao is a classic 1940’s, post-industrial chaise lounge with a modern twist. This timeless piece incorporates a series of handcrafted cushion sections and comes in numerous prints. Designed for an enduring elegance, but also for ultimate comfort, this piece is an ideal combination of beauty and comfort.

Gyro

This unique lighting collection draws inspiration from ancient armillary spheres. Extracting key elements from the historic instrument, Gyro incorporates chandelier-inspired lights within a framework of aged metal spheres, reflecting an authentic, vintage aesthetic. Floor lamps, sconces, table lamps and chandeliers are included in the range.

Salvage

The Salvage collection tells an inspiring tale of ecological conservation and sustainability. Constructed from century-old reclaimed pine from the UK and painstakingly restored by hand, intricate details of the wood are preserved while contemporary accents of metal add a touch of boldness and modernity.

Accessories

Timothy Oulton’s accessories range includes a creative mix of handcrafted items as well as vintage pieces sourced from flea markets and other locations around the world. The collection embodies an aged vintage aesthetic and includes a variety of decorative objects, including the newly introduced art pieces in The Gallery at Timothy Oulton.
