On 20th August, we excitedly launched our first ever gallery in India. The black carpet was rolled out, lined with fresh rose petals, as we invited guests to enter the world of Timothy Oulton, New Delhi.
The lights of the Hong Kong skyline glowed dramatically against the clear night sky, the stage was lit, the music was pumping, and we were watching it all from the seriously cool VIP tent, styled by Timothy Oulton. Welcome to Clockenflap; Hong Kong’s biggest and best outdoor music and arts festival.
Now in its eighth year, Clockenflap is a three day cultural extravaganza held on the Hong Kong waterfront every November. This year’s international line-up included big names like Damien Rice, The Libertines, New Order and the Skatalites, attracting around 60,000 visitors both from Hong Kong and further afield. As the official VIP styling partner, Timothy Oulton brought its own melody of energy and inspiration to the exclusive VIP area.
Rock and roll is full of timeless truths, revisited and refashioned for each new generation, making it relevant for today. Tim fell in love with the Rolling Stones growing up, and ever since then music has inspired so much of our creativity at Timothy Oulton.
As the bands played, music fans of all ages were relaxing inside the VIP tent, lounging on Tufted Tribeca and Westminster Union Jack sofas, or enjoying the amazing view of the stage from a Mars or Aviator Tomcat chair. Everyone was in the rock and roll spirit, donning leather jackets or t-shirts printed with their favourite band, and taking selfies with our signature bowler hats under the sparkle of Atom chandeliers.
Champagne buckets full of fresh roses on the Drum bookcases and Blackhawk coffee tables were soon emptied as people had fun putting roses in their hair and kids decorated the space with petals. As the sun went down, the beat from the stage continued and dance moves started to fill the tent in time with the infectious rhythm.
One lucky guest even got to choose a Timothy Oulton piece to take home in our special competition. With music, art and amazing food drawing the crowd, it was a weekend of enthusiastic fun and vibrant creativity. Music, like great interiors, brings people together.
